2 Hour Workshops - Up to 15 students: Reviewing primary, secondary and complementary colors, working with color wheels and mixing colors, beginning brush work with 3 different kinds of brushes, learning basic watercolor techniques including washes, wet into wet, and salt. Students will complete 3 small paintings and a color wheel.
4 Hour Workshops - Up to 15 students: Reviewing primary, secondary and complementary colors, working with color wheels and mixing colors, beginning brush work with 3 different kinds of brushes, learning basic watercolor techniques including flat wash, graded wash, sponge, wet into wet, and salt. The beginning stages of planning and sketching a painting are also covered. Students will complete 1 large painting, 2 small paintings, 6 sample squares, and a color wheel.
Weekly Classes - Up to 5 students (Usually Six Consecutive Weeks) – Adult and Youth 2.5 hours, Children 1 to 1.5 hours: Classes would cover the same material as the 4 hour workshop with more depth, detail, and individual work and teaching. Students will also learn how to take care of paper, paints, brushes, and paintings. Students will complete several paintings, some assigned and some of their own choosing. Work at home between classes will be expected.
Weekly Classes – Up to 5 students (Usually six consecutive weeks) – Adult and Youth 2.5 hours, Children 1 ot 1.5 hours: prior watercolor experience similar to the beginning class required. Students will learn advanced techniques and composition and will be primarily working on paintings of their own choosing.
