In this class we will review drawing techniques and explore using color pencil, and watercolor pencils to create different paintings. We will work on exercises as well as finished pieces. Some paper will be available for purchase. Students will be given a list of other supplies upon registration.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to make a variety of papers from natural and recycled fibres. We will begin by making 6-8 different paper pulps such as cattail, thistle, poplar fluff, blue jeans and more, out of seeds, cotton fabric, and recycled acid free paper: You will then have the opportunity to create papers from each of the pulp vats using the templates provided: approximately 10 -15+ unique pieces of paper for you to take home after the workshop. There is no supply list. Optional: a blender with removable blade.
We will be walking and sketching in the Mill Creek Ravine, learning to see light and shadows and sketch them. We will work on ideas on composition and perspective. Bring a sketchbook, pencils and a camera (Color pencils or other medium are optional).
